Born in Rio de Janeiro, Guto Índio da Costa graduated in industrial design from the Art Center College of Design (Switzerland) and embarked on a prolific creative career.
He currently coordinates the design and transportation departments at Indio da Costa A.U.D.T. and has received several international awards for his projects.
He has been a member of the Rio de Janeiro State Design Advisory Council since 2006, was director and former vice-president of Abedesign, co-founder of the Brazilian Center for Industrial Design (CBDI), and promoter of various design exhibitions and events. He has also been a member of the jury for various national and international awards, including the L'Observeur du Design (France), the D&AD (England), the Red Dot (Germany) and the Compasso D'Oro (Italy), as well as regularly writing articles for Arc Design magazine as a contributor.
