The Costela lounge chair, an icon of midcentury Brazilian design, was created by the celebrated designer duo Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler in the 1950s. Consisting of solid wood slats, which are finished in natural varnish and arranged rhythmically throughout a painted tubular iron frame, this chair bears resemblance to a wooden rib cage. The loose fabric cushions are attached to the backrest and seat, gently embraced by the curve on the wood slats’ edge. This Costela comes with an accompanying ottoman.
