We accept returns of online book orders within seven (7) calendar days of delivery confirmation. Requests received after this period will not be accepted, and all sales are considered final.

We reserve the right to refuse a refund or apply a restocking fee if the returned book shows signs of use, damage, or missing components.

The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs, unless the return is due to our error (wrong item shipped, manufacturing defect, or damage in our possession before dispatch).
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service for the return. We are not responsible for items lost, damaged, or delayed during the return shipment. Refunds will only be processed once the item has been received and inspected by us.
Once an order has been handed over to the postal service or courier, Mercado Moderno is not liable for delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier. Shipping rates collected at checkout do not include third-party insurance.
If the item is damaged on arrival, please notify us at memo@memobrasil.com within forty-eight (48) hours of delivery, including photographs of the packaging and the damage. We will assist in filing a claim with the carrier where applicable, and offer a replacement or refund subject to inventory availability and the outcome of the claim.
Once the returned item has been received and inspected, we will issue a refund to the original payment method via Stripe. Please allow five (5) to ten (10) business days for the refunded amount to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
Refunds cover the price of the item only. Original shipping costs are non-refundable, except when the return is due to our error.
Any import duties, taxes, or customs fees paid to your country's customs authorities are not refundable by Mercado Moderno. These payments go directly to the destination country's government and are outside our control. We recommend contacting your local customs office for information on potential refund procedures.

Orders may be cancelled for a full refund only if the item has not yet been dispatched. Once an order is in transit, the standard return procedure above applies.
This policy is governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. International purchases are additionally subject to any applicable consumer protection laws of the buyer's country of residence.
