Description: Contemporary textile designer Inês Schertel manufactured this group of baskets in wool using a six thousand year old technique. The pieces are not made as loom textiles, but are felted by the friction of the wool fibers, which contract when combined with the soap, giving rise to the unique pieces of the textiles. The knowledge of the past - with which the designer had direct contact in Kyrgyzstan - is used to produce real, pure pieces, 100% natural. The wool comes from the flock of Textel sheep that are kept in a native camp on their farm in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
