felipe varanda
Felipe Varanda began his career as a photographer at Jornal do Brasil and Folha de S.Paulo and as a freelancer he published in major Brazilian magazines. Mastering in Communication at ECO-UFRJ, he graduated in journalism in 1998, completing his postgraduate degree in Photography as an Instrument of Studies in Social Sciences at UCAM. His photographic essay “Arquelogia de Futuras Ruínas”, carried out over ten years in the port region of Rio de Janeiro, was exhibited at the National Historical Museum in 2015 and has works acquired by the permanent collection of the Rio Art Museum (MAR). He held an exhibition for the individual “Vestígios” at the Memo Brasil gallery in 2016, in addition to having participated in several collectives such as “As dust in the wind” at the Rio Art Museum in addition to participating in editions of FotoRio, International Photography Festival in Rio de Janeiro. He received the Oi Futuro Urban Interference Award, with the photographic installation Transposition of Rio Carioca, in 2008.
